The beach

Platja de Portals Vells is a beach of sand and rocks located a few kilometres far from Cala Vinyes, Calvià. It is a secluded and very beautiful place where lots of boats go to in search of crystal clear waters. Nearby yacht club.

Notes

Small cove with two swimming areas. There is a path to access to the Mare de Déu cave, where you can see an old altar of a fishermen leyend.

How to get there

    Palma-Andratx motorway

    Leave Palma driving along the Palma-Andratx motorway, Ma 1.

    Exit to Magaluf

    On the motorway turn off at exit number 14, towards Magaluf.

    Continue 2 roundabouts

    Continue straight ahead until the second roundabout (called roundabout eight) and here continue towards El Toro or Son Ferrer.

    Crossing

    From this point we will move one kilometre forward and we will see that the road widens to give way to a lane in the middle. We will get in this lane to stop at the Stop sign and then go straight on by another road to Portals Vells/Playa delMago.

    Continue several km

    Go past the golf course, continue about 3 km and take the detour on the right at the point marked by the indicator.

    Follow the sign to Portals Vells

    Follow the road to Portal Vells until we see another fork also signposted to the beach. Reach the coast and look for parking. Turning a sharp bend to the left we will see the beach of Portals Vells.

About Calvià

Calvià is a Majorcan municipality bordered by Puigpunyent, Estellencs and Palma. At present it is the second most populated area of the entire Balearic archipelago after Palma, and also one of the areas with a large tourist influx. There are approximately 300 days of sunshine and its average temperature is of 27 degrees Celsius in summer and 14 in winter. Its coastline extends from Cabo Andritxol to the area of Ca's Català, Ses Illetes. It is 54 km long with numerous beaches and coves apart from 10 islets.
