The beach
Cala Comtessa is a beach of sand and rocks located close to Illetas, in Calvià. The beach can be reached from a dead end street, which is steep and widened at the end, giving way to a small car park for about 50 vehicles.
Notes
This beach is one of the prettiest near Palma. It offers spectacular views in its descent to the beach and it is usually clean. Like any other beach, in high season the water is much cleaner in the mornings.

How to get there
- 1From Palma
We leave Palma from its promenade (Gabriel Roca Avenue) towards Andratx.
- 2First exit
Just entering the dual carriageway to Andratx, we will take the first exit to Cala Major or Sant Agustí, indicated as exit number 4.
- 3Joan Miró Avenue
We continue along Joan Miró Avenue, later renamed Palma-Andratx road.
- 4Passeig d'Illetes street
Approximately 2.5 km before leaving the dual carriageway we will see a street on the left called 'Passeig d'Illetes'. In the middle there is a lane to enter that street.
- 5Follow the sign to 'Platges'
There is a moment in which this street is one-way. We have to go straight ahead and in the only branch we see we have to continue towards 'Platges' (beaches)
- 6Left-Right
In a certain moment we will be facing the sea, continuing this way on the left. On the right there is a dead end street. There is a sign just opposite indicating Cala Comtessa beach on the right.
- 7Parking
There are two enabled places to leave the car. The closest to the beach is at the end of the dead end street. The second is just before entering this street to Cala Comtessa, where there is a street on the right with a slope. This street has also a large car park.

About Calvià
Calvià is a Majorcan municipality bordered by Puigpunyent, Estellencs and Palma. At present it is the second most populated area of the entire Balearic archipelago after Palma, and also one of the areas with a large tourist influx. There are approximately 300 days of sunshine and its average temperature is of 27 degrees Celsius in summer and 14 in winter. Its coastline extends from Cabo Andritxol to the area of Ca's Català, Ses Illetes. It is 54 km long with numerous beaches and coves apart from 10 islets. It is provided with a hotel option of more than 230 establishments including luxury hotels, rural houses, marinas, golf courses, athletics tracks, a water park, areas to practise hiking and tennis academies.
