The beach
Cala Pilar is a beautiful cove with golden sand, reddish cliffs and turquoise waters. It is one of the most beautiful areas of Menorca, virgin and very careful. Access from the Pilar car park is easier and longer than from the Alocs. A wooden ladder is enabled to access the site.
Notes
Acces by car following the signs towards 'Cami del Pilar' from the Me-1. From this parking we still have to walk for about 25 minutes north. When reaching 'Camí de Cavalls', the beach must be reached from its east side. It can also be accessed by Camí de Cavalls from Els Alocs towards the west. How to get there
- 1From Ciudadela
Leave Ciudadela towards Mahón by the Me-1. Continue about 8 km along the road until you see Camí del Pilar signposted.
- 2Camí del Pilar
We will see the sign to Camí del Pilar in both ways. This detour will take us after 5 km to the north of the island up to a clearing used as a parking.
- 3Path
We will continue north along a path under a shaded forest. The path is simple though we will be going up a slope. At its top there is a shaded picnic area overlooking Cala Pilar.
- 4Camí de Cavalls
When passing the picnic area and seeing the sea, we will continue along Camí de Cavalls to our right. We just have to down the slope until we reach some wooden stairs to access the cove.
- 5Another access from Els Alocs
It can also be accessed leaving the car at the parking in Els Alocs and continue to the left along Camí de Cavalls.
